Question ID: 1251

Question: Looking at an axiom 12 RV (using it as a stand alone unit and not interfacing with any other instrument). I would like to add radar to it as well. This is for a 21 foot boat. What are my options for it. Do I need to buy a black box sonar or gps sensor/ antenna as well. What though hull transducer will work best for me. I don't care to have side imaging, I do want to see bottom at speed and clear picture of the bottom. Thanks for your help Carl Speaks

This unit has sonar built into it, so no need for a sonar module. I'd recommend a B60-20 for the thru-hull, like this https://www.boemarine.com/raymarine-b60-20-20-degree-tilted-element-transducer-f-dsm300-dsm300g-dsm250-dsm30.html

These units will use any of the new Quantum Radars like this - https://www.boemarine.com/raymarine-quantum-trade-q24c-radome-w-wi-fi-ethernet-10m-power-10m-data-cable-included.html

This has an internal GPS antenna too.
