Question: I have a set up with twin 4 stroke 150, with 6YC gauges connected to command link hub. Will this cable connect CL hub to a new NMEA 2k backbone.

This will make the connection, but it won't do anything. If you have a 6YC then you have Command Link Plus in which case you need a command link plus gateway. Here are some articles that will help https://www.boemarine.com/blog/search/yamaha/
