Question: I currently have the Airmar P66 50/200KHZ transducer on my 19' CC with an old Garmin GPSmap 545s. The Garmin unit stopped working at the end of last year so I am looking to replace it with a new Chartplotter/Fish Finder. I would like to keep the transducer if possibly so I do not have to go through the hassle of mounting a new one (unless the newer units need a specific transducer). Do you have any recommendations on a unit where I can just plug and play? I have looked into the LOWRANCE–HOOK² 7 Fishfinder/Chartplotter Combo with SplitShot Transducer and US Coastal Charts. Would this work with my current transducer and would the connections fit?

You are going to need to stick with a Garmin unit. Your transducer has a 6 pin plug, the new Garmin units use an 8 pin plug but they do make an adapter box p/n 010-11613-00. So you can use this adapter box to adapt to any current Garmin unit. Check out the echomap 74cv.
