does this fit into the tank of the r599

The CM599 will fit the R599 tank, however, we cannot recommend using it in this fashion.  The two models have different numbers of heat sinks and in different places.  Using a CM599 in an in-hull application will not be supported by Airmar and it would void the warranty.  And an R599 should never be used in an external mount application either.
