Lowrance's new HDS Carbon chartplotter / fishfinder has a redesigned LED SolarMAX HD display. The Carbon's SolarMAX HD touchscreen is enhanced with a wider viewing angle to make viewing this screen easier in those awkward angles. Advanced anti-reflective screen coatings and top notch color accuracy with the boosted high-resolution viewing panel, makes this screen one of the most rugged units in almost any environment.
Ultra-bright HDS SolarMAX™ HD displays with greater resolution and a wider range of viewing angles
High-performance dual-core processor for smoother navigation and faster sonar updates
HDS Dual-Channel CHIRP Sonar – dual sonar-range coverage from the same transducer*
HDS Network Dual Sounder – cover more water and mark fish targets more clearly from a network of CHIRP sonar transducers
*requires dual-channel CHIRP sonar transducer
The HDS Carbon equips a dual-core, high performance processor that results in faster response and quicker course plotting. It also packs enough power to run the latest and greatest technology like the StructureScan 3D, VesselView Link and Lowrance Outboard pilot.
Not to forget about CHIRP. The HDS Carbon has a built in two channel Chirp that can handle up to two different frequencies at the same time. This means there is now the ability to use a combination of two frequencies of either low, medium, or high. This dual channel CHIRP will allow user to use a high frequencies for marking great bottom detail and schooled fish while using a low CHIRP to get that wide cone angle that is much desired while trolling or looking for suspended fish marks. With the Dual Network sonar view we can now network two transducers into the same HDS Carbon and view them at the same time. This is ideal to see your trolling motor mount ducer along with the transom mount or in hull ducer at the same time. To Take advantage of these CHIRP abilities take a look at some of the Airmar transducers that are available.
Another addition to the HDS carbon unit is the integrated WIFI module. This means that the GoFree wireless module is now built into the HDS Carbon units. This is a great feature for downloading software updates or upgrading charting software on the go. This also lets you connect via smart phone or tablet to integrate your devices with these units.
